DAV-LIN has completed a 38,000-square-foot renovation of the Brown Family YMCA in Ponte Vedra Beach, with Studio 9 serving as the project’s architecture firm. The improvements were part of a $4.1 million capital campaign and addressed fitness facilities, shared spaces, and everyday member amenities.
Fitness and Member Space Improvements
The project introduced a dedicated cycling room with new bicycles and renovated the wellness center, including a redesigned workout floor. Additional work refreshed locker rooms, restrooms, ceilings, and flooring, along with lobby updates. The fitness-floor image below shows the strength-training area, with machines, benches, and weight racks.
The improvements extended beyond the exercise floor to spaces members use before and after their workouts. The featured wellness-lounge image highlights one of those gathering areas.

Supporting Wellness and Continued Access
The article also outlines plans for new wellness-center equipment, a recovery room with heat and cold therapy, hydromassage chairs and a sauna, plus conversion of the Healthy Living Center into a mental-wellbeing space. The article describes these features as planned additions.
The YMCA remained open to members throughout all three construction phases. For a facility serving about 9,000 individuals annually, maintaining access was a key part of the project.
